Well, now I've done it!! I just ordered a 10-18 Canon lens from B&H, my favorite shopping place. Now I wait for free expedited shipping, which is always awesome!! Oh, yeah, I also got the hubby a new Canon point and shoot. His old Olympus p&s has a line on every frame. I like Canon anyway. They, B&H, have a really good sale right now. Can't hardly wait for my new toy. I've wanted a wide angle for years!

I just got that same lens a few weeks ago. I really like it a lot... a bit of a learning curve on what subject matter is best to shoot ...images are clear and crisp...a fun lens.
You should enjoy!! :-)

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I will be going out west next month, so I'm sure I will use it then, and I'm ready for wide angle Disney shots. We go alot, never grow up!

You will find that a low viewing angle will use the Ultra Wide to great effect. Since it is a kid (as in very short people) oriented place, including the stylized figures and graphics at their eye level will give your photos a kid's eye view, which, for me, is what Disney is all about. You will get a simlarly great effect at the beach. Catching the Monorail appraoching or leaving in the foreground with the park or hotel in the background should be fun, too.

Using the lens to get it ALL in can be dissapointing becaus ALL is rendered microscopic in the frame. But if getting ALL of a structure, feature, like the teacup, and filling theframe with it is fun.

You will enjoy this poit of view and keep finding new ways to shoot many subjects that maybe you thought were "tired."

Your in for some serious fun. you would not think you would need I.S on this type of lens but just go play when the light gets down.

I don't have that lens, and don't need one that wide, but I want to take this opportunity to agree with you about B&H. It's my favorite place for virtually everything related to photography and some other items, like UPSes.
