I'm new to this macro/micro stuff, but I love the small stuff. I have a D3100 with a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6GED, and a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G lens. I would like to play with these first if I could. How do I set the camera?
Thanks, Tom

Neither of your lenses will produce macro-photographs, as is. A macro lens needs to focus within a few inches to a few feet in order to capture a subject at life-size.
