Welcome to Day 82 :) .. Lately everybody has been posting a lot of closeups of flowers ..so I thought today we would do some closeups of critters. 2 legged, 4 legged, 8 legged .. makes no difference. They can be an accidental capture of flying critters ...I seem to get a lot of those... or pet portraits.. if it's a non-human animal and it finds it way in front of the camera ... let's see it.. up close and personal.
Here are a few examples to get us started.

Those are great images. That first one, the eyes really have an abundance of expression. Love pictures of animals, because they do not try to impress you with a phony pose and smile. It is a case of, "what you see, is what you get", like it or not. Keep'em coming.

This is a great subject area for today and although bird photos are my favourite subject I will start with something different. If you look closely in the frog's eye you will see the clouds from above reflected there. This little red squirrel often drops by our feeder area to lunch on the food put out for the birds. The third photo, a Blue Jay is a very common bird visitor to Bird Alley and as you can see this jay likes peanuts!

I know fish do not have feet, but they do have fins which serve to propulse them....Heh-Heh

A Common Grackle is a bird long awaited for as to us it is a harbinger of spring. A sign that spring is indeed coming. this year this species first showed up in Bird Alley just a couple of days ago on the first day of spring! This photo was taken yesterday.

A little favourite bird visitor to our bird feeders is the Red-breasted Nuthatch. We haven't seen much of this species all winter but it showed up in Bird Alley on the last day of winter. Welcome little bird! Soon it will be butterfly season and as a reminder of this season here is a beautiful White Admiral butterfly to enjoy viewing.!

This will be a challenge for me. I don't do birds well, but this is the best of this frequent visitor to our suet cage. Taken this week
