I love love love the first one. I would frame that and hang it in my house! I can't wait to get a macro lens, which one do you use?

Absolutely beautiful, THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO DO, I need a macro lens for my Canon. These photos are inspiring to me. I have a macro with my old Minolta SLRs and enjoyed the photos from that camera. Just haven't the money to get a macro for my Canon...yet. But, seeing your photos will make me save a little harder. Thanks for sharing. Cheryl

Thank you. I bought a used Vivitar 100mm. It comes with an adapter lens that will give you 1:1, which is how both were shot.

Thank you. I am really enjoying shooting macro. I have only had the lens for a month or more, but haven't used it much I have been waiting for the bugs and buds to come out.

Nice job.
BTW: I see a number of spots in the upper left corner of the first image and in the lower part of the same photo. Don't know if this is the sensor or the lens.
Enjoy the lens!

I see a "fuzzy" theme to your macro!

Sooner or later, you will want to start adding a bit of fill light to your macros. What speedlight do you have available?

I hope you are referring to the fuzzy plants and not the focus. :-D
I have no speed light at all. I have thought about watching e-bay and craigs list for something. The other option is I have a birthday coming up. Which one would you recommend?

The theme is fuzzy, not the photography! But your comment did get a chuckle from me.

What camera? I ask because I use a $40 O-Flash attachment to a standard Nikon speedlight on my camera.

My hand-held, field macro set-up: D5000 + Nikkor 105G + Nikon SB-600 Speedlight + O-Flash attachment
My hand-held, field macro set-up: D5000 + Nikkor ...

O-Flash Attachment

The cost of the O-Flash doesn't make me choke, but those speed lights are a bit pricey. How much difference is there in the different speed lights. Can I go cheap and get by or do I need to shell out some cash and get a decent one?

Your D3000 is quite similar to my D5000 pictured above in my macro set-up. I purchased on eBay for $200, a refurbished (new, but previously sold) Nikon SB-600. Other similar size speedlights can also be used.
