I've had the lens for some time & have recently upgraded my D200 to a D7100. I tried out the lens on the new camera & am impressed with the sharpness of the female bullfinch at 500mm. This not very interesting photo is straight out of the camera (no PP).

That's an awesome lens, i had it before i got the 150-600 C.

@ Tom & Don, I'm on the fence about the spending the money for the sport or wondering if the contemporary would fill the bill.
