By the way, he just walked out of the store with the Sigma in hand after viewing these two shots on the store laptop at 300%.

Is the Nikon mounted Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary model available yet?

It has arrived in North America and is entering distribution right now. It should start arriving in pre-order inventories next week. No idea as to actually how many copies have arrived, but pre-orders are massive.

I had a customer asking about the image quality between the Tamron 150-600mm and the newly released Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary model. Since the Sigma is only available in the Canon mount right now, I decided to mount the two competitors up and take a shot with each for a quick comparison. Subject matter is lacking in the city so I shot a transformer on a power pole a half a block away.
Images can be downloaded for direct comparison on your own. I find the sharpness quite similar. The differences to me are in the Bokeh and color rendition. The Sigma's Bokeh is softer, yet its colors are richer. At least to my eye. Feel free to leave your own impressions here. (And yes, the pole is THAT crooked!)
I had a customer asking about the image quality be... (show quote)

So BigSky, what is your price on a new D750?

The price on a USA warranted camera is the same anywhere you buy one because of the industries MAP pricing structure. Currently the D750 is priced at $1999

Well! I'm about ready to get one. Locally, they only sell the kit for $2,699.99

Anybody can sell the body only, providing they have it in stock.

So I guess you don't have it in stock. They are scarce little rascles.

Both shots with same camera, same settings in Av mode. The difference in light transmission of the lens elements can change the selected shutter speed. The difference is quite minimal actually.

Sharpness could be a very subjective matter. I was ready to say that I felt the Sigma had like a third of one stop underexposure when you posted this.
Looking at both shots I find them pretty close regarding sharpness, colors and discern of details.
I believe any of them could fit my purpose very well without actually knowing the difference between them in AF performance.
