Stalking an Osprey

Trying to get a good shot of the Ospreys at River Park North or Goose Creek Park. In both parks they are building nests in very high and remote locations. Armed with D7200 and Tamron sp 150-600 for this years quest I have over the last weekend managed one halfway decent shot.

On the first day they stayed way up on the nest or fished were i could not see them. So i took a shot to play with while waiting. Shown are the origional, cropped and topazed results.

On Sunday one of the Ospreys caught a fish and perched close enough for a better view.

Nice shots, but high tension wires don't seem like the best place for a nest.

Love that last one! I have been keeping my eyes and camera on a nest here near my home, hoping to photograph babies soon. Good luck with yours!

thank you for looking, they nest on top of the towers every year. The power company took down one of the lines and erected a special replacement nesting pole, but the ospreys just moved their nest to the remaining and taller set of towers

They do that around here too! I was lucky enough to find a nest on a dead tree, if humans will just leave them alone. They are on cell phone towers alot!
