Loc: UK (Harrogate, North Yorkshire)
We had a near-total eclipse of the sun here in the UK today. As it was cloudy we thought we wouldn't see anthing but then the clouds thinned (but only for around 15 minutes at the height of the eclipse - talk about lucky) & it turned out that conditions in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, were ideal for viewing enough cloud to enable viewing with the naked eye (and for photographs) but the cloud was thin enough for a perfect view of the eclipse - about 89% of total here.
My Sigma 150-500 was still attached to my D200 (I've just splashed out on a D7100 & am still learning my way around it). As it looked as though the thinning would be purely transitory, I didn't want to gamble on taking the time to change cameras so just grabbed the D200. Here's the result.
Very good Roger, reminds me of the Cheshire cat from Alice
in Wonderland.
