Hello all!

I am new on this site. My name is Adi, and I am completely new to the world of photography. I am looking forward to what this site has to offer. :) Unfortunately, I'm still using a point and shoot. :( I hope to be able to afford a DSLR camera soon. More so, I would love to share my amateur work with you once I do have that camera. :) Thanks for reading! Nice to meet you all!

You do not need to wait for a dslr to post your photos. One its the PHOTOGRAPHER not the camera that creates a great photograph. @ the more you shoot and get critiqued and apply what you learn the quicker you get better. Also since having to sell my dslr due to loss of work, mosts of shots are recorded on a nikon l22 point and shoot. so post away and let the fun begin.

Three things - first I would like to echo what been said many times; develop your sight, look for perspective, see textures, angles, colors - what is your focus. How do you draw attention to that? Does whatever else in the frame add to or detract. Second - your equipment is a secondeay concern at most - BUT know what you've got and how to use. The last question I would like to address is "is there anybody out there?" The reply depending where "out" is - is yes there is very likely several bodies out there and getting more crowded all of the time. I would suggest the posting of pictures or specific questions. No one can teach others how to compose a picture except to their liking or by very general rules. The ones that stand out are taken from a very personal perspective. To see how others perceive there are volumes of very good books and example. To see your world I would suggest that you take lots of pictures under every condition - that is part of the allure of digital; it isn't going to cost you much. I have added one just because I could. Enjoy the day.

Hey Me Fl your shots arent mediocr. I too have taken shots of footprints in the dirt .I love your texture shots. I am going to add a few of mine. NotnoBuddah I ve been meaning to tell you welcome to the Big 10. I have been looking forward to Nebraska joing and bringing another football powerhouse not to mention a program of integrity (hear that Ohio State and Univ of Miami) Last time I was this excited Penn State and Joe Pa joined. Its the best time of the year. In the beloved words of Hank William's Jr "Are you ready for some football?" :D

Hi Adi,

Just curious, why did you choose AmeNoMiKumari. Isn't that a shinto water goddess?
