I'm new here, I started taking film pictures back in the 70's, used Pentax, switched to Nikon, then to Sony Digital in the 90's, back to Nikon Digital now. I have too many cameras, all DX Nikon DSLR's, will move to full frame when the right day comes along. Of course, I adopted over a dozen lenses, and some film cameras I seldom use anymore.
It's nice to read about more experienced photographers, as we all have that desire to capture life at it's best. Getting "that" shot is what drives all of us. My new Grandson has stimulated my somewhat dormant passion for photography. My D7000 has over 4000 activations since January, as well as thousands on the other 4 Nikons in the same time frame. Thanks for sharing your experience. Maybe I can add something from time to time. Freddie

8-) hello from the Treasure coast of Florida. Welcome this is a great site with some amazing photographers who are freindly and helpfull. Some of the photos posted here are so good it is enough to give me an inferiority complex. :-P The best thing about this site is the ease it is to post photos. Otherwebsites require you to have a flickr or photobucket and do so many convuluted things just to post a shot. I keep expecting them to require a sacrifice of a goat to the pagan photo god ansel. I started in photography when I was seven with a kodak instamatic progressing to a nikon f when my dad decided i was going to stick with it. He was a professional photographer for Ferris State University. What he didnt teach me I picked up from popphoto shutterbug various websites and talking to other photographers. I noticed you said you had a lot of nikon equipment. Do you have a d-100 or any other early nikon dslr you might want to get rid of? I owned a d-100 but had to pawn it to pay rtent when I lost my job. worst mistake of my life. Never pawn your cameras or guns and I did both. If you do send me a private message . I amm shooting now with a nikon p+s but it is not the same. Im going into dslr withdrawls and jonseing man :? here are a couple of my favorites.
