I know there are a few people that still like to use film cameras in regular, everyday photography. Does anyone still use film under water?
Thanks, Bill
I still use the Nikons V. Last time I used it was on "Project Ocean Search " with the Cousteau Society in Fiji. All divers had to be proficient at using the Nikons and at that time it was the camera of choice .
Have a friend still shooting a Nikonis. Think he will go digital when last daughter graduates from college / gets job.
Almost on a whim I bought a Nikonos III with the 35mm and the 80mm. My fist thoughts were that the camera would be a beach baby, or for canoeing, etc.
But why not consider getting SCUBA certification? I remember being enthralled by Cousteau's The Silent World, and there's a dive shop with certified instructors, a pool, etc, only a few miles away.
So I sent it to Southern Nikonos for service to insure that the O rings are good and to have the internal O rings replaced. It and the lenses are good to 50 meters. I just scored a 20mm for the Nikonos.
Anyone out there using the Nikonos electronic flashes for this camera? Since it is not TTL i'd be back to the guide numbers that we all used in the old days. Another possibility, maybe, would be a powerful dive light; I found the Nikon meter housing and the proper Sekonic meter, so I could use a continuous light source.
