One of the greatest Camera Stores in the country was Century Camera out of Minneapolis Mn. This picture was taken when Century was opening a branch store in Duluth Minnesota. Carl was good friends with the owner of Century. Century is now long gone, but I miss it. I bought my first film SLR there and it was a Russian Kalimar SR-200. I still have it and the body light meter still works. Albeit a little weak.

Did Century go out of business before Internet purchasing became the way to go?

Long, long before that happened. Century was huge and I think comparable to the B&H of today !!!

The main sales site was near Washington Av. in Downtown Minneapolis. If I remember it was a huge 3 story building with sales taking place on all three floors. Downtown is where I bought my Kalimar !!
