Well, I can't tell you which one you should keep, but I can give you a little insight as to what you have. Now, I have never owned or used either of these cameras, so my insight is indeed little. Based off of what I have read. Both are from the digital rebel line of cameras capable of using both EF and EF-S Canon lenses. The XS is basically a newer version of the XT, but it added options you may like. First, it has a 10 megapixel sensor vs 8mp with the XT. It has a larger "live view" LCD screen. It comes with an IS lens. And from what I've read, it handles low light better. I have heard some people complain that it is actually inferior to the XT in build quality, but again, I've never had either. You can most likely sell the XS for more than the TX so if you're looking to sell one, that may be a consideration. Based just on what I have read, I would probably lean towards keeping the XS, but the best advise I can give you is to play with both of them and see which one you like better. Heck, you may decide you want to sell them both and get a good point and shoot.

Here is a comparison of the two cameras from Camera Decision:

The XS is a newer camera, so I would lean towards keeping that one.

I agree. Assuming they are in equally good shape I would go with the XS. However, they are both very old in digital camera years, and neither camera has any significant value in the used market. Why not keep both? They are small enough. Put the XT in a drawer and use the XS. If the XS fails you have an immediate backup for no additional cost or effort..

And it appears that the OP hasn't been posting since 11 years ago, so I don't know who he thinks he is talking to.

Get the one that has the higher available shutter speed. It won't be long before you won't be able to keep up with your 2 year old.

You probably want to refrain from mistakenly hitting the <Last> button and then replying to 11-year old zombies.

Yikes. I did not realize that hpucker99 had reopened an 11 year old thread. I obviously did not look closely at the date of the OP's post. My bad for not checking the date of the original post more carefully before wasting my time responding. I have no idea why he felt the need to reply to this long dead thread.

I could suggest that perhaps he got hit in the head with one too many hockey pucks without his helmet on, but that would be cruel and unfair both to him and to a sport I love.
