I'll remember that... as I have a Nikon 7100, but hope to get a Canon SX50 for vacations. Thanks again.

You might want to keep your eyes on the Canon site refurb store. They often put the SX50 on special pricing around "gift shopping" time and we've got the big one coming up soon. They just had a "black Friday" deal on it for $199 and I'd look for that to happen between now and Christmas if that fits into your budget with everything else at Christmas. This deal they just offered included a 1 year warranty and I hear that refurbs are gone through with a fine tooth comb before sold. People here in uhh say a Canon refurb is usually a real good experience.

Thanks. That's a great idea, but with 14 grandchildren at Christmas time..... I'll probably be waiting until next spring. :-)

Holy mackerel! 14! Wow! Bless you. That would put a cramp on funds at Christmas for sure but fortunately it has other offsetting rewards.

I never thought of myself as an inspiration to anyone for anything, but if anything I said or did convinced you to put these beauties here, I'm glad. These photos demand respect and are so pleasant to look at!

How could I have overlooked your comment. Forgive me please. And yes, of course you are an inspiration to many people here in uhh and elsewhere.

I'm sorry. I have been buried up in work and just saw this. I cannot imagine, but I thank you. That's very kind of you.

I was intent on keeping my comment concise and simplified but your continued denial of your impressiveness has forced my hand so I'm going to unleash the whole nine yards and three bags full. Here is what I originally wrote to post here but edited so as to not incite you for me being so nosy:

How could I have overlooked your comments. Forgive me please. And yes, of course you are an inspiration to many people here in uhh and elsewhere. Seventy seven year old great grandmother and 25+ year cancer survivor, married over fifty years, raised two sons, still riding horses, looking not a day over 50, artist extraordinaire, owner of an internationally successful Tennessee Walking Horse related greeting card business and designer/painter of your cards, painter of murals in homes and businesses and myriad other art objects, mostly critters, an accomplished photographer who brings her expert horticulture knowledge to life in her images, as well as all the nature in and around you and with a fantastic sense of humor observable by all with humility that would rival that of "ol' humble Charlie." So impressive in fact that, wanting to know more but being afraid to ask for fear that I'd never find out, I've done a little snooping and I could tell 'em a thing or two here in uhh they don't know.

Should I tell everyone here, for instance, that, in addition to owning up to seventy seven horses at one time, something you've said here in uhh, that you have bred, raised, trained, and shown, as rider/exhibitor, multiple Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse winners in worldwide competition. You once admitted in a thread a long time ago that your house has no wall space left from all your ribbons and trophies but I'm thinking, yow, right, Podunk County, TN annual fair maybe but I now know that many of those awards were for winning multiple worldwide competitions spanning over forty years at THE annual Tennessee Walking Horses World Championships and if that's not impressive, nothing is. I'll stop there but please, the word is out on you now so don't ever again act for a second like you're not a huge inspiration in so many walks of life. The only people you don't inspire directly are people who do not know of you and you have no doubt inspired a lot of them indirectly through others without them knowing it.

Not if you respect the idea that what was being tested was my ability to hold both cameras and get equally good images at some visually comparable level without taking sensor size into account. I don't think it takes pixel-peeping to see that happened and know that 12mpx from a small sensor aren't comparable with 21mpx from a full frame sensor.
