Thank you. I think you are entirely too kind and I'm afraid you may be overestimating the demand for my images here in uhh. LOL. :-D As we arranged when I showed you the pictures, just send the statement via email. You do take PayPal don't you? :D :D :-D

Yep. Just send a video tutorial to Jo@Paypal.com. :D

Yes, I agree and post processing has a lot to due to how the pictures looks. All nice, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for looking in. Since you brought up the post processing, I shoot in Raw only and have to process which I do with Canon's Digital Photo Professional first and do/did most of my final touch-up work with a copy of Elements Ver. 2 that I got with my first DSLR, an EOS 20D, so beyond "developing the negative" I don't spend much time processing. In this case, the first few shots were lit by a sitting sun so the colors were amplified by the light and didn't need much processing. That first shot was reduced in size by about half which introduced some noise that wasn't so bad in the original which is why I didn't originally apply any noise suppression which was needed as is demonstrated in the second copy of it on down in the thread.

Hi,rieal nice shots,it is ashame they are hunted as pretty as they are.

Thank you. I agree. I grew up in a region where I never had the pleasure of seeing these ducks except in pictures which weren't even so plentiful back then. It was hard for me to believe they even existed and these are the best shots I've been able to get up to now. I'm astounded at the beauty of this duck and have yet to personally see a Harlequin, but the pictures I've seen of the Harlequin astound me even more so than these Wood Ducks.

Thanks for dropping by and I agree that I was indeed fortunate to catch these conditions as they existed. It isn't often that everything in nature comes together where I am able to get shots as pleasant to view as these. I may stop chasing these guys now. It has taken years for me to see them like this. Needless to say, these may not be the only shots I got that day. :-D

Thanks for your help and inspiration. You inspire me to look for beauty every time I open my eyes and look at the world around me. I bet you didn't know that.  :-D Happy Thanksgiving again to everyone in uhh, to your families, and especially to you and now, it's time for me to get ready to take care of a bird of another sort.

Thanks Mike. Good to see you - haven't in quite awhile.

Thanks Gess.... My wife was sick for over a year and a half, so I didn't get out shooting too much. She's doing better, but her arthritis is really getting bad. I just bought her a Canon SX60 to use, as her Canon 7D is to hard and heavy for her to handle, as her hands are getting real deformed. I was really impressed with the new SX60, but takes awhile to get use to something new though. Good to see you back too.

Mike

First 3 shot with SX50 - rest were shot with 5D MkII and 70-200L II IS f/2.8...

Welcome back gessman. Haven't seen/heard from you in a while. These are superior shots of one of the most beautiful birds alive. Love the male/female in the next to last shot. The first shots with the sx50 prove what can be done in the right hands.

Very nice shots of a very surreal looking bird...
There is something that bothers me about the last one on the original post, but yet it is the one that draws me in the most..
