Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO OS HSM vs Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens
You don't need IS with moving subjects. A great cheaper option is to by a second hand Canon 70/200 L without IS. You'll be delighted with the results

Do you have experience with one or both of these lenses? Is the Canon worth the extra $1000.00? I am shooting basketball indoors and need less noise.
Check the MTF chart for both.
The lens closer to 1 all the way across is the best. If it is wavy with an up and down curve the greater this is the worse the lens.
Both look quite good. Though Canon has the definite contrast edge and a slight resolution edge.
The mft charts from different companies can't be properly compared. The info is from individual lens makers is not done in a standard unbiased fashion. You can only make comparisons between lenses made by the same company. You can compare Sigma to another Sigma lens or Canon to another Canon etc. bab
