Super-zooms are so addictive! Good to see you're having fun with yours :)
Thank You, now I have to get a better Tripod and a remote trigger, because when I was trying to take the picture it was moving.I used my lightweight tripod because I was trying to get the pictures before it got dark. But I only just started in this Mad world of Photo taking.
This is the first time that I have tryed to take a water fall
This guy is the reason why I take pictures
The SX-50 I learn something every time I read a couple of pages and then try. From the first day that I got the 50 I have not used my Nikon, it just sits in the camera bag. Even when I go out to Fort Lewis with all of the Choppers and Planes I have been using the SX50 and it is a learning type day.
My first try at a Waterfall with the SX50
This is one of the main reason of why I take pictures

Hi Stephen, you have over exposed your photos, when you take photos of the moon think of it as taking a photo on a sunny day.
I have enclosed two of mine taken with the SX-50.
Regards, Alfie.

2 suggestions for the waterfall.
Use the "Spot" metering function, and then depending on the overall light you may still want to slightly under-expose using the +/- controls.
Spot metering also works for moon shots, letting the meter indicator rest on the moon.
Oh yeah, turn off the date that shows on the pics. It will still be on the file and in the EXIF data.
Good first efforts.

Are you sure it is overexposed. It looks like he took it during daytime and yours were at night. My comment is only because his back ground is blue and your is black. The moon features do look softer in his but I think that is because of the time he took it. I notice that my night moon pictures always come out better.
You are right the pictures of the moon were taken in the afternoon at about 5:15 or so and the ones of the Waterfall were taken without a Tripod and in the rain and wind. The one of my Grandson is also free hand every time he see the camera
he just yells and runs. So I Thank Every One for all of the help that I can get.
