Nikon D90 at ISO 400, Nikkor 105-mm macro lens, 1/200-sec at f/22; full sun & Nikon SB-600 Speedlight with O-Flash 3/4-circle Fresnel prism attachment.
Western Honeybee on Apple blossoms, approx 10:1 mag (10x life-size)
Honeybee 1 on Yankee Point ceanothus bloom, 16:1 magnification (16x life-size)
Honeybee 2 on Yankee Point ceanothus bloom, 16:1 magnification (16x life-size)
A Pottor wasp (Eumenes verticalis). Approx 4:1 mag (4x life size).

Thanks again N72. I used a tripod for these shots. The background was a potted million bells plant in my backyard. The hornet itself seemed to be taking a final break of the day before flying off to who knows where?
