The building's design and "spire" have been the subject of controversy, but from this perspective it is impressive, as is the surrounding memorial park, which feels very much like hallowed ground. It took a bit of walking to find the right spot to take the photograph.
Good capture, and very moving!!!!

That was one walk that turned into a most successful journey. I have never seen this building photographed so well. Good on ya Mate!
Thank you all for the encouraging comments.
Best shot of building yet !

Beautiful photo. Not only technically but also emotionally. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great photo! Love the dichotomy of the old architecture with the new.
Thank you all. I'm pleased that the comments come from far and wide.

Congratulations on an outstanding architectural photograph, JPetrie! May I ask you to share the technical details with us? I would guess you used perspective control with a view camera or a wide-angle PC lens, but I'm an ancient film shooter and unfamiliar with all these digital camera advances, so I'm curious.
I was East on vacation and carrying my Nikon Df and one lens--a 24-85mm f/3.5-5.6 G (no VR). I took the shot hand-held mid morning in diffuse light. Settings: 24mm, f/5.6, 1/500, ISO 100, WB cloudy, aperture priority, auto exposure, auto focus. Post production, I corrected the perspective convergence using an Aperture plug-in called PT Lens.
Wonderful photo, JPetrie! Gives me goose bumps!
