Canon 5d mark2 400mm 5.6L lens. As much as I love this camera it is not meant for sports or B.I.F. so I don't get as many keepers as I would like.

You are correct that the 5D II is not made for BIF or fast action but you have done exceedingly well here.

Thanks birdpix, Nikonian72 turned me on to this forum 2 days ago and I just finished reading a couple of your tutorials. Excellent! I am really excited to read the rest. I hope to get the 7d mark2 early next year and am excited about this forum. Thank you from this novice.

Outstanding captures despite the equipment limitations. I would like to see more color in the eagle photograph.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice shots, I agree more vivid color in the eagle. I also shoot the 5DMKII and a 7D and am waiting for my 7D MKII. What ISO did you use for the second shot? The reason I ask is that there appears to be a lot of noise on the lower wing. You could use a noise reduction program but that could also affect the sharpness of the focus in the finished print or file. For just getting started I'd say you have done yourself proud! If you really want to have some fun wait for the humming birds to return and try to shoot them. Read and reread and practice, BIF is addictive! Look forward to more shots, have a great day and thanks for sharing. RRS Just a quick question, were they shot free hand or off a tripod with a gimbal head??
