Hi,

I have been taking photos of my grandsons hockey team. A parent wants to get a "Fathead" poster made but the owner of the shop says that I need more ppi. I shoot a Conon 60D and large jpeg files. She says that when she starts to enlarge the photo it becomes pixelated. HELP

I'm no expert, but the only thing I can think of is to maybe take multiple shots of parts of the team and stitch them to make a larger image. I'm surprised you're having that problem with a 60D though. I was under the impression you could get some really big prints out of it. You could also try shooting in RAW and processing to a TIFF instead of JPEG as the problem could be loss in compression.

I shoot some with a 60d it is a great camera I am confussed why they said they couldn't in large it for you. You can always use corel or photoshop to resize your photos. I have inlarged many photos with the 50d and even the 10d hope this help Dave

I enlarge to 16x20 all the time with a Canon 20d.
I cannot underestand this problem
Maybe you need a different lab?

Just be sure your camera is set to record the largest JPG possible - you may have inadvertently set it to a lower setting. (My 14 MP P&S makes 1.5-3 megabyte files, and they go out to 16 X 20 OK.

You might try PhotoZoomPro:

http://www.benvista.com/photozoompro

We use it to take 6MP images up to 24x36 inches at 240 dpi with stunning results.

Recently, we did a 36x60 inch blow up from a D7000 frame, and it was beyond belief perfect. You may have seen it at NAB at the Meduza booth. Blue girl and green 3-D camera.
