I've ben chasing this bird for more than a year. It is very secretive and rarely comes out in full daylight (as the name implies). This morning I got lucky.
Hope you like the results:

My favorite book ever "Brendon Chase" by "BB" talks about Night Herons and now thanks to you I have seen one . The book has an illustration in a woodcut> Old reader here and old printing process there. Great book for boys of all ages. I read it once a month and have done so for 55 years!! Must be some record!

Old woodcuts are hard to beat---I bet it is a beauty to behold.
I've always thought that this is prettiest of the herons, I'm really happy with this capture.
Thanks everyone for looking.

You got very lucky. I only have one decent photo of this beautiful bird.I see them often, as I'm sure you do. But, as the name implies, NIGHT Heron......
Thanks everyone for looking.
Hopefully I'll have some more soon.
