Paint Shop Pro X7 has been released. Just downloaded mine but haven't had a chance to study it yet. The interface is new.

Every time I go to the site, it's just X6.
Interesting. The invitation to get X7 just popped up on my desktop when I exited X6 today. Try opening X6 and closing and see if you get it too.

Does it seem to load any faster than the earlier "X" editions? Thanks.

Do you mean loading the program or loading when you open the program each time? It downloaded fast and it opens instantly each time I open the program. I won't have time to play with it till tomorrow.

Loading when you open it. It takes a while on my computer to load all its bells and whistles. Remember PSP 7? A fast, clean photo-editor.

When I close X5, I usually get a pop up inviting me to upgrade to X7 right now. If I click on it I'm taken to an exclusive pre-launch offer.
Any google searches for Paintshop Pro X7 gives me results for Painter X7.
--------------
I checked the User to User board on Corel. Some are able to download the trial, others are not. Some say if you download the X6 trial, it will be the X7 trial when you open it.
Then there are those who say you need a serial to even use the trial.
This is typical of Corel. I tried to demo Aftershot Pro 2 and couldn't get it to run. Ended up ditching ASP in favor of Lightroom and am has happy as a clam.
I've been using CS2 lately--toying with the idea of deleting PSP. I've got X,X2,X3,X4 & X5 install files clogging my hard drive and I think it's time to do a purge.
I'd be interested to know what improvements x7 has over the x6 version. Please post. Opening faster really doesn't mean very much. Especially for a $70. upgrade. The x6 is still 64bit so I'll need a big improvement to pull the trigger on this.
Hope this doesn't muddy any waters but I gave up on Paint Shop X3 when it wouldn't read my Nikon nef files (7100) . Changed to ACDsee pro 6 - then just recently changed to a Nikon Df - pro 6 wouldn't read them and updates didn't do the trick and had to upgrade (no difference I could tell apart from reading Df files) to pro 7. Seems to me as cameras with RAW files are money in the bank for image software companies. I know we could stick with camera provided software but I think we all invest a mega amount of time learning to use third part stuff like photoshop, ACDsee, Paint Shop et al !
Mini rant over - best from Mikey

I too have downloaded but not yet played with it on 30day Trial. I use X6 because it is 64 bit and then use my full set of Topaz to do most of the mods. (topaz does not charge for updates... my "adjust" is 6 years old and never have I been charged for an upgrade Adjust 3 now at 5.1 and I have attended many free webinars by experts.)
Ok, X7 has a face fix... is it as good as Portrait pro 11? and is Portrait Pro 12 better than 11 ... And the beat goes on... all want our money except for Adobe they just want to bleed us slowly with our heads in the clouds. Perhaps if Corel said look guys.... pay us $10 for 7 months and you own X-7 we may bite. Well, I will play this weekend.
I still sometimes use JASC Paint Shop Pro 7 -- the last "original" Paint Shop Pro before it was bought by Corel, and they ruined it. Most of the time I prefer Photoshop Elements, along with Photomatix Pro for HDR work and Noiseware for skilled and controlled noice reduction.
I have used Paint Shop from when it was owned by Jasc and I definitely don't thing Corel ruined it. They have updated it regularly and I find it a robust and excellent program. Coupled with LightRoom, it's all I need. Like many hoggers, I do take advantage of various plugins as well.

Had the same problem... downloaded the whole program again and also told it to open in edit mode. Part of the problem is perhaps ?? associated with trying to go thru all our photos on the computer and catalog them??
OK, just opened X6 64 bit for the first time since boot... 40 seconds it was ready for work in edit. Before reinstalling it was perhaps 5 minutes and at times on the second try... OK, X-7 after all the ads free downloads and such... had to go back to programs and open X-7... up in running in 30 sec saving 10 seconds... lets see, that is about 7x10=70 ~~ 60 seconds per week so ~~ ( about ) 1 hr a year. Wow....
The free extra downloads are some that only work in 32 bit ... but as you know you can run both 32 and 64 bit on the same computer in W-7 64 bit. 32 bit is needed for some older plugins... Well, time to play with this new intro of PSP X7 and fight within my being the demons of software addiction.
Corel PSP X6 opens completely in 10 seconds on my computer. Intel i 7 4770 processor and Samsung EVO SSD
