I'm heading out to San Francisco in the couple months for vacation. I am looking for a good all around lenses so that I don't have to lug two or 3 around. Looking for suggestions.

Thank you.
Debbie

Tamron 18-270mm does a great job on my 3100 , its light and easy to carry and has the extra reach if needed.
Any of the 16-300mm or 18-250mm could be a good choice also in my opinion.

I agree the 18-140 lens will most likely be your favorite lens...very sharp all around good lens.

I've got the Sigma 18-250 for my D5200 as a walking around lens and I like it a lot. Not real sharp at 250, but pretty solid throughout the whole range. It's $349 most places, not anywhere near the $500+ listed above as a manufacturer's price. I still use a 55-300 Nikkor for wildlife, but the Sigma has become my everyday lens.

I've had the Nikon 18-200 and 300 on everything from a D40X to a D7100. I sold them and got the Sigma 18-250; just as good, lighter and cheaper. Just don't expect miracles from any of them and you'll be fine.
