Here's a picture I took up the inside of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse near Daytona Beach. I took off the circular polarizer to set the camera on the floor since the back of the camera isn't flat.

Is that looking up or down? Either way gets me dizzy.

It's looking up. My shots looking down couldn't keep people out of them, and I was looking for the more artsy pattern look. To lean over the railing around the center (probably to keep people out of potential harm's way) wasn't working, but putting in on the floor dead-center gave me what I wanted. If I get the chance again I'll make sure to have my remote release.

Very interesting!
I noticed the angled break going from lower left to upper right. I realized the stairs are on the lower right half and the upper left is a landing.
These are not a continuous stairs that spiral up the inside.

Is there a window at each landing?

Thanks for a puzzler!
Pat

I live a couple of miles from this lighthouse and do not have a single photograph of it or the delightful little "Village that surrounds it. There are so many great photo ops there and some sper restaurants there that I dare not go there as I am on a diet.

Great interior shot handled superbly.

It is a great venue, and I left with a couple of ideas for the next time I'm down there. Full moon of every month they have a special event for a small number of people after regular hours, to be up at the top to see the sunset one direction and the full moon the other. If there are good cloud formations to the west and clear to the east, could make for a killer panoramic, and once it gets really dusky, there are a lot of good locations from which to take shots of the lighthouse. Here are a few more pictures from my trip. I wish my photos of the Fresnel lenses on display turned out better. Couldn't get the focus right for some reason...
