If there was ever a day to do the ironing, mow the lawn or spend hours watching paint dry, today would probably be it.
The small rural town of Boring in America has declared today Dull and Boring Day to celebrate its pairing with the village of Dull in Perthshire. Residents are planning a "not too exciting" party to mark the occasion, including a five-hour programme [my spellchecker doesn't like this correct spelling of programme!]of bagpipes and folk singing.
Plans are reportedly now afoot in Boring to develop a new relationship with the Australian town of Bland
