Very nice. Love the barns. Seems like you have a knack for spotting them or there are a lot in your area.

Every time I add my 2 cents worth somebody smacks me in my kisser.
When you see a building with a big cupalo like the one with the flag I think it is a granary. They would insert a long eleavator with chains and metal plates to put corn or small grain in the bins. Usually the sides for ear corn bins have slats for drying. Also most of them had a driveway in the center for storing wagons, or other equipement.

Well you are right on this time. In this area they are called corn cribs. Ear corn would have been stored in the fall after harvest and shelled out in the spring. This crib among many others are no longer being used for that purpose. This one does have also overhead bins to store like wheat, oats or soybeans. Also not being used any more. Considered too small. If used at all would be to store equipment such as wagons in the drive way of the crib. Thanks for looking.

I might add that when I was young we had a neighbor who borrowed my fathers truck to get seed oats. I went out to bring in our milk cows and noticed a big black cloud forming out west. So I went down to offer to back our truck with his oats into the drive way of that graniery. He appreciated it and offered to have me in for coffey. I told him a joke that was going around sbout another neighbor who seemed real lazy. He had farmed with horses and finnaly got a old regular farmall tracktor. Well the story was he tied the rope that triped the plow to his right foot so he could kick his foot to bring the plow out of the ground. He hit a rock unhoockong the plow and broke his leg. I didn't tell him it was a joke. Well it poured down rain and no field work for days on end. The next day they went visiting and spread the story. When his wife found out the truth she blew her top.
