Having trouble uploading Avatar and photos

I have Picasa3. Several times I have tried to upload my Avatar and can't seem to upload any photos in photo gallery.
It says to click on browse button but there is no browse button--only choose file.
When I do click on choose file, and then open file, it just disappears but Picasa3.exe shows up next to choose file.
I am not a computer geek. What am I doing wrong?

Open you picture file, check and see if the picture is stored in the jpeg format if not, select "save as", it will give you a choice as to what format you want the file to be saved. Select jpeg and then try it. I made a similar mistake on my first upload.

I had the same problem uploading pictures to UHH. Someone suggested I download Google Chrome and upload from that. Problem solved..

Well, at least I have an Avatar photo. I do have Google Chrome but nothing seems to be working that I try. Obviously I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks for your help.

I never used Picasa, but you need to make sure the image file is on your computer (or a network share) before you can upload it here.
