The Snowy Range begins about thirty miles south of Laramie, WY. The main mountain is Medicine Bow Mountain. The area is a lush forest with several "old growth" forest areas and is a photographer's paradise, diverse as any place in the Rockies. The twenty plus mile stretch of highway was the 2nd designated "Scenic Byway" as designated by the Federal government. It is a microcosm of the Rockies with a lot of deer, elk, moose, bears, big cats, etc. There are many campgrounds and it is a wonderful destination for camping or RVing. My wife, who paints, and I spent two long summers there and tried to make the most out of it. Thoroughly enjoyable. Please feel free to join in with any landscapes you have. The more the merrier...

These shots are just different angles of the same place, if that's not evident...

To be a little more precise, I should have said that the Snowy Range is SOUTHWEST of Laramie.

More good photos Gessman! I seem to be drawn to clouds and weather in photos hence #4 & #5 are my favorites of these. In keeping with the Wyoming and mountain theme, here's a cloudy pic of the Tetons just north of Jackson Hole, Wyoming:

You two take some fine pictures, makes mine look like obamaspeak, so I won't bother. National Geographic would be proud.

Nonsense crazyhorse. Please share what you have. We'll all enjoy and appreciate looking at them. If all photos had to be perfect for this place, I'd have been out of here long ago. C'mon! Get in here and mix it up.

Well, told you they were nothing as good as y'alls. The weather wasn't the best when I went...made do with what God gave me. Can't ask for much more. These are just a few that I liked and are as the eye saw them. Of course, I do have bad eyesight. Some post editing probably would help enhance some of the color, but I ain't figured that out yet so I dont even try.

I love the pictures, the light coming down, would like to see that in B&W. the 2nt one makes you feel you are there, getting ready to put your boat in the water.

this looks like a fun place to be. Did you go camping in the winter? It looks so cold. Gizzy and I haven't been in that area hope to go out there this spring. When is the best time to miss rain, too hot, to cold, snow? lol like your pictures

Which one(s) are you thinking as b&w? I forget about that. I'd like to see what you're seeing.
