Found this guy at work. Came from under a wall so I took him outside and got a few shoots. He posed very nice on a leaf I found. Didn't move for about 20 minutes. Don't think he knew what outside was :)
Taken with my 70-180 4.5-5.6 micro
F 8,ISO 800, SS 1/250

Not too shabby! #3 looks like you are a bit too close for lens' minimal focusing distance (MFD).

Yes, I put the T5 on to get a little closer. Was hand holding, so I must have move a little. My only excuse, I was suppose to be working, ha.

Thanks, wish I would have had the tripod. It is in the truck full time now. :)

You can try that yourself! OP posted FULL image, so you can download to your PC, then crop as you would like to see image on your monitor. I use Picasa for such quick crops. It is customary to ask permission before posting edits of someone else's photos.

maybe but the only lens i have is a 75-300 f/4-5.6 so a close up would be hard

Yuk. I hate those guys. Great and sharp photos though. They are so life like I am getting chills. Feel like stepping on it.

Actually from faraway I feel the same. But if you can get a micro shot of some of them, they are pretty cool to look at. I carry a little bug cup in my truck to catch them in and take them home. After I get a few shots they go out to the garden. Good bug catchers.
