They had a fantastic show tonight at the local community college. The USAF Band of Mid-America (based at Scott AFB, about 5-10 miles away) played, then came a laser show and finally the BIG ONE...a huge, impressing fireworks display. Here are some of my better shots (I wish I had like a 10mm lens!) Except for cropping, these are SOOC. Exposures varied between about 2 and 7 seconds, give-or-take. Enjoy!

Thanks for looking. A friend of my mom said she thought they looked like thistles...never would have thought of that, but I guess she's right.

Thanks, Photomom and Marion. My instruction sheet said 8-12 second exposure, but I think that would make the pic too messy. but I guess it would depend on how many explosions were taking place. My pics (not necessarily the ones i posted ranged from .1 to 12 seconds, not including the experimental video I took. Which begs a question. This is the 2nd time I've tried video with my A77 and I never get any sound...what am I doing wrong???
