LOL! Your guess would be as good as mine. Every time I think I've got something figured out, it jumps up and bites me right on the butt! LOL! You'll have to try it again, "if" you ever get another day like that in AZ. When I was there for 3 days last June there wasn't a cloud in the sky!

I would suggest using High Pass to sharpen up the photo a bit. It's under filters/ other/ High Pass...
With your permission I could download it and try it out and see what I can get?

LOL I know all about high pass hun ... these are unedited and I can photoshop them to make them decent ... but heck ya go for it I'd love to see what you can do to them.

These appear to be exposure issues not wb.
The histogram is not really about wb it is about exposure, altho, you can view in RGB channels.
Your making all kinds of changes , bouncing all over the place which can lead to more confusion.
Metering can be a bit tricky with these types of images especially with the first two. You have a lot of sky and foreground. Using a graduate ND filter will help, as it allows more control .
If you have a lot of gray overcast days , the results aren't going to be bright and highly saturated. It is the nature of light.
Since most of these tend to fall into landscape types, i would make the following suggestion. Put your camera in aperture mode, use f8, use your native ISO and take the same photo using each of your white balance modes . THis will help you learn to see just what WB is going to provide.
Then with the up close images, DOF is not as important , so go to f5.6 do the same exercise.
Go back to small steps, building one piece of information on the next.
Have fun and keep practicing.

Disregard the ND suggestion, had a brain cramp. That hill will create an issue with that technique.

I think you are already on the right trail. I think it is exposure
metering not WB. I would also try spot metering in the area around the subject. You can then change back to evaluative and take a reading to see how much the camera meter is compensating.
