Shooting a photo of 8 young kids proved to be a pain in the you-know-what, just as I thought. The 8 kids came from 4 couples, all related. They turned up at 11:00 am which seemed to be the best time for all of them to be reasonably cheerful. The youngest was teething and cried for his mother every time she put him down. One of the older girls was simply in a miserable mood. Another one didn't want her photo taken. The 18-month-old couldn't figure out why she had to stand still, so she starting crying. And, of course, all the parents thought they knew how to get their kids in line - not! I had about 5 minutes to pull something off before one or other of them left the scene. Believe me, today's kids aren't like we were when we listened to our parents give us instructions and obeyed. These days, they seem to do exactly what they like and there' aren't any consequences. In any event, this is what I ended up with and the grandmother who was having a 70th birthday was quite overcome with tears - happy ones! It's black & white because that's her preference.

You did quite nice considering your circumstances and conditions. Looking at this in the future, they will be able to really enjoy having all of them together in one shot.

Did you use a fart machine??? :XD:

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are a real hero - you should get a Silver Star. Getting that group to all look at the camera at the same times deserves praise. Good job.

I think you did quite well DebAnn. All eyes are open and no crying. I know you had to take several shots. :) :)
