...Occasional Escape! Now and then they need me to leave behind my home in this land of never-ending ice, snow and single digits to travel someplace sunny and 75 ☺... Went a little nuts with my camera it has been a long time since I've seen the world in Technicolor. Here are a few of my far too many images of flowers and other signs of life above freezing.
Seriously? The grass must be greener somewhere...Cape Elizabeth, Maine (not far from home)
The green, green grass of the land of eternal summer, Huntington Gardens, San Marino, California
Pink! ...with a little buzz :)
California Poppies make me happy :)
Very friendly native, wants to meet my daughter :) Malibu
Dining al fresco, with the Pasadena City Hall for a backdrop
Home offers another kind of beauty, but I'm missing the fun colors of California!
A big WOW from me, Kerry! What a wonderful and eclectic series! All are remarkable either for their color, content or simplicity but I'm in love with the Poppies!
Absolutely lovely pictures. You have a good working relationship with your camera. Well done.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The poppies are also my favorite (just PERFECT), though I love them all :)

I am so glad I included the poppies for you, Carly! I hope you get to enjoy some real live ones for yourself sometime soon - do they grow in your neck of the woods? Escaping winter was a such big WOW for me. Thank you for enjoying my little California tour :)

Thank you for your very kind assessment, Dennis! What I have a good working relationship with, is YOUR weather! You are a lucky man to live out there!

You are too kind, Linda! I guess I was just a wee bit color starved! Glad you liked the poppies :)
We still have 12 inches of snow here. Although I have to say, I really like the last one of the boat.
Gorgeous series, Kerri. I liked them all but especially liked the little boat. Must be the New Englander in me. :D
John
Wonderful shots! All of them!
great photo's, but I just love that last one..
I'm voting for the boat, too, but some great shots here, Kerry. Nice work. And even without the green and pink, Maine offers wonderful blue skies and ocean, the browns and grays of rocks and trees, and the white of (infernally deep, long-lasting) snow. And don't forget the stunning oranges and pinks of the sunrise and sunset.
There's no place like Maine! : )

Is #1 the Portland Head Light? Another photo of it was just posted by Rob48.

KT, if you still have 12 inches of snow, I guess it's a VERY good thing you like the boat best! Thank you kindly and I sincerely hope those 12 inches melt soon!

You must have truer New England blood than I do John ;). Thank you for letting me know which you enjoyed the most! Wishing you a beautiful spring, eventually!
