I have a D300s body that I'm thinking of selling. Motivate me...
I am really waiting for the D400 to come out.

I don't how to motivate you, but 400 is still in rumors. Love your avatar by the way.

Go to Nikon refurbished cameras, I have 2 D300's and love them both. It is a great tool but I too am waiting for the D400. Never bought a D300s because I am not interested in video.

I have the bad feeling that the D400 will never come out in the foreseeable future. The D7000 is such a great and innovative camera that I don't really see the need for a D400 at this time. The 7000 seems to have it all for a bargain basement price to boot. I have a feeling that Nikon will wait until something new and innovative comes along to launch the 400. Increased megapixels won't be enough and the sensor of the 7000 supposed to be state of the art for now... Whatever it's going to be, I can't wait for it to get here. I'd go for a full frame, if I didn't have such an investment in DX lenses.
But I do love my 300s anyway.

Here is one of my latest shots with the D300s and my 18-200.

I have used the D300 for about three years now and love it. Recently I bought a D7000, took about 12 shots with it and decided it wasn't a camera I could use. I didn't like the light feel of the camera and it didn't fit my hand nicely. I was able to sell it with only about a 50.00 loss. I turned around and ordered a referb. D300s from Cameta Camera on Long Island, NY. It was factory referbed by Nikon and Cameta gives a 1 yr. warranty with their referb. cameras vs. the 90 days if you buy direct from Nikon. The price of 1249.95 included shipping and if you don't live in NY, there is no sells tax. I received the camera in two days and can't tell that it isn't right out of Nikon's new stock. Very happy to have a pair of these great cameras now. I don't forsee needing the video mode but it's nice to have if ever needed, and the live view button is way more usable than having to dial it in from the top selector dial. Also I like the dual media slots to be able to use both compact flash cards and SD cards.
