My SX50HS was recalled and they sent me a brand new in the box camera. Can't argue with that.

I have that camera. Bought it in July 2013 in Canada. Do you remember what "error" was stated in your recall. Thanks

It had to do with some chemicals that were in the rubber on some of the productions that discolored them with a white color. If you do the URL it will take you to the explanation site.

Wasn't that the same with 650d or least it was when I brought mine long time ago, or so it seems. Canon said they had cured the problem back then. No problem with mine as it was out of the serial number range. Surely they wouldn't make the same mistake again.

The Canon 650D is also the Canon T4i.
All Canon entry level DSLR cameras have a dual numbering system.
The Rebel XSi, was also the Rebel 450D. It's been this way for years. Confusing? Yes?
