Hello. I'm new to this forum and would love to learn more about nature photography, especially smaller creatures like insects and spiders. I look forward to learning more from each of you.

First I take very few macro pictures and in general I know little of what I speak, write, or even think. So here goes nothing - May be a little out of focus, I think a closer, close-up would have more imapct. Do you use a tripod? The framing of a subject in the center is considered taboo by many but others not so impressed by this being an always evey time rule. I like the background and colors - not busy, not bland -adds to, does not distract. I have added a couple one that I took that I also have some problems with. Enjoy the day.

Yes, the photo was centered. I had a cropped one that was a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Here's the cropped version. Another problem with it is that it was taken with a high ISO, giving too much noise.

I'm using a Canon 40D with macro lens.
