This was just seen in DP review:

Reports have been surfacing that Nikon is issuing new D610 cameras to customers who send in their D600s for service. It's hard to substantiate, but Nikon Rumors has been collating reports from Europe and the US which seem to show that some customers who send their D600s in for service related to the now notorious dust accumulation issue have been receiving brand new D610s in exchange.

I wonder if they'll swap one for my D50?

I will be watching for your answer. I could use a new D610 and my old D50 is pretty dirty.

I just sent my D600 in yesterday, February 17. It's no longer under warranty, and this is it's first visit to Nikon. (I bought it in December, 2012.)

I'll let you know what happens.

I sent mine in a couple of months ago. Got the same D600 back. They replaced the entire shutter mechanism and is completely spot free but no D610....

What month? Maybe we can track a timeline.

Hi mormorazzi, I'd be interested to know how it works out with your D600. Please keep us posted. I've been considering sending mine in for service too. The sensor still gets dirty often. Thanks, Don

Nikon DonB, if it has been less than 6 months since you sent it in last, that work is still under warranty. They warranty all work for 6 months.

I have followed your adventures with the D600. Sorry you are getting spots again. I sent my D600 in to Nikon and it has been over 6 months. I too have found that I still get spots even thought Nikon replaced parts. The spots continue to be concentrated in the upper left corner of my photographs even thought there are a few in other areas. I still love most everything else about my D600. Well, actually I would prefer wider area of coverage of the focus spots.

Grrrr. I sent my D600 to Nikon on Monday and I'm lonely, miserable. I hope it comes back spotless.
