Hello...I happened on this forum, and it looks like it has some good information...I would describe myself as an ambitious amateur. I shoot a Canon 7D and have only 2 lenses. I own a Canon 100-400 and a Canon 24-105...both are very good lenses and probably a lot more glass than I need, but it serves my purpose. I am a retired guidance counselor and have always messed with photography, but have got very interested in the last 6 years. I am looking forward to coming back to this forum and checking it out. Thanks!

Well - I'm sure in most aspects you are very unique, but as far as beeing into photgraphy for years but just now finding your interests peaking and wanting to know more; maybe pretty common. Now the fact that you only have two {very nice} lens, now that might be a little unusual. Guessing more then a few of us have several we never use - just bought with the ide of helping the economy. I too am new to the site and get the impression that is could be very helpful. I appreciate all feedback, tricks & insigts. Have added a copuple {okay three} of my pics for the heck of it and would be nice to some of yours sometime; if you care to share.

Neat picture - proves once again, it don't need to be fancy, colorful {as in many hues} or complicated to be a very noteworthy subject. Thanks for the look. Have attached an example of a simple subject + a little Photoshop that I understand. Enjoy the day.

Welcome.

The only suggestion I have is about your first image, raising the Flag. I think it would have been more interesting if the flag-raisers were looking at the flag, at what they were doing, rather than at you and the camera.

Yes you may be correct - but they are realtives that are out of control. Actually I do have some where they were looking at the flag as they were raising it that I had another problem with - the flag poles were so high and they were standing so far to both to sides to raise them the image size has to be so doggone big to get everything into the picture. I have thought of maybe shortening the flag pole with Photoshop but have yet to get to it. The other problem I had was I really was in the wrong position. I do appreciate the feedback, the looking and all comments.
