Here are a few of my photos that I have edited or messed with a little what do you think?
Nieces and Nephew in Myrtle Beach
Pretzel Vine, Oxbow Falls NY
Lock 23 Erie Canal NY
Im new to this as well, but here is what I notice....on the first one I would have put a dark vingnette around the pic, I think that the white is too bright for that picture and that the black would have framed it in more. I like pics of kids from the back though....and they are really popular these days as well.....the second pic, I really like that! Just a random picture of the woods that most people prob would not look at twice...but I would, b/c to me it is very artistic....I like it. The last one, it is neat, but if you know any editing programs at all, I would prob play around w/ it and make it more interesting w/ some diff colors, antiquing or somthing along those lines....just my 2 cents...hope it helped. :)
#1 - try it with a darker vignette and see what it looks like.

I like all three of them, but I agree a darker vignette is a better contrast for the children on the beach.
The pretzel vine in black and white is an excellent idea since a color shot would probably have been too distracting. Another way to bring out the vine would have been to do a depth of field around the vine with the background somewhat blurred if you wanted to keep the color but accent the vine.
I like the contrasting cables and pully system with the wild flowers. Gives a nice serene mood to the 2 contrasts.
just so you know, you were seeing something here, and the contrast is very dramatic, your presentation with that other object sticking his head in did not belong.
I cut it off...
Sorry things have been crazy and I haven't been on for a couple days here is a revised version of the kids as per the request of some.

Thank you all very much, I am fairly new to this as I really don't know much I just take pictures and really enjoy it. I have been considering taking classes at a local technical school just to better myself. Your comments and advice are greatly appreciated.
