I... personally.... LOVE it!
'Course, I'm partial, with an affinity for a moon pic framed by something else, like the shadow of clouds or trees, etc.
I love that the moon isn't white, too!!

Terrific! AS a outdoor, kinky type of person I would love to have made this picture. I never had any luck with Moonshots.

thanks for you comment, I used a sigma 120-400 lens and camera setting are f/18 1/15s ISO 100.Also had a 2X sigma on my canon tl1 camera

Awesome pic. I've been trying to capture a good shot of the moon. Ive captured the man in the moon; but not have not been successful capturing the light and the mystery. You on the other hand done an excellent job. Will try your settings. Thanks for sharing!!! :-)

I too love the color and the shiloutte of the trees. The only sugestion i have is to crop out some of the dead space. :thumbup:

I agree it's a great shot!
I have a nit to pick on using exact settings. I to have moon shots, that are very well, of course without the tree shadowing but this is just a way of making more out of the shot, a piece of art, basically! Anyway, my nitpick is that each night/day the moon is different in brightness, color, size, and so fourth, if you go out and the moon is instead bright white and you use these same settings you may end up with a bright white blob of light on a black background. Instead of reusing these settings, take them into consideration and remember to always keep your ISO as low as possible. I shot this one while it was still kind'of light outside and my settings where way different from this. The main thing to remember is that every camera is different even if they came out the same day and are the exact same camera... electronics are weird like that...
Settings: shutter 1/100, f/stop f/11, ISO 200, Focal length 90mm, Lens Fujinon 50mm - 400mm wide angle

Also for moon shots, I always use "spot metering". It always tends to give me what I want... Also, keep in mind that I shot this with a Point and Shoot low end Digital FujiFilm FinePix S1800 camera on manual settings. I won't use Auto with any camera as the end results in auto are not as great as they can be in manual modes...
