Those eyes - perfect focus - and that's what you intended - so total success. But there is more to a puss-cat. I would like to have seen more of this beautiful animal in focus.
The pundits always say "get the eyes in focus" and I would totally agree - and you do. But at the expense of the rest?
Thanks for your very kind comments and input, Delderby. Much appreciated. I intentionally blur the cats, making the photo just about the eyes, and use a smoothing program to do so. Just my personal preference. It works best with longer haired cats, I agree. Once in a while I do leave them I blurred, but again, it's just my own preference.
Thank you so much, and Merry Christmas!
Interesting technique for photographing cats...your shots are all beautiful.
We have a gorgeous long haired orange cat,but Oskar is very snooty ...he won't run away but just when I think I've got him, he quickly turns his head
sideways...far more cooperative when he was a kitten.

Incredible ice blue eyes. Now I know where your avatar came from! Merry Christmas and Santa has a big heart, he'll bring some cat treats! He he! :-D

Glad you enjoyed the photo, Nessguide. He's a handsome boy, if a bit if a troublemaker.
Thanks very much for looking, it's appreciated!
Merry Christmas!

Lol, most cats are far from cooperative when it comes to modeling. I have some tricks that help, but kitties have minds of their own. There are sessions where I don't get a single usable shot.
Still, I keep at it, since it just adds to the challenge, lol. Happy to share my tricks with you, if you wish, just PM me.

Thanks, Chuckles. Appreciate the kind words. I'm sure Santa will bring something for Martian besides coal. And yes, those are the eyes in the avatar, lol.
Thanks for visiting, and Merry Christmas!

To me he looks like he's dreaming of empty boxes and lots of torn up Christmas wrappings to both hide and search in and, finally, to snuggle in for a few dreams. Gorgeous picture.
Thanks, DragonsLady. Martian doesn't dream about opening presents for the boxes and paper, he just goes ahead and does it! Can't put anything under our tree until Christmas morning, or it's wholesale destruction that greets us when we get up. And he's not the only offender. Bump shares space on the Naughty List, too!
Thanks for visiting, enjoyed your comment.
Merry Christmas!

I take lots of cat pictures but this pic is really great, beautiful eyes and that 'what, me' look!

Thank you for the kind words, DickC. Martian is very expressive, which helps his shots. A lot of his expressions involve glowering, as he dislikes modeling for me. But you live here, you model, end of story, lol.
Appreciate your visit, and a very Merry Christmas to you!

The focus is definitely on the cat's eyes producing a great shot.

I have two cats and cannot get them to pose. How do you do it?

I hold them at gunpoint, lol.
Seriously, I do lots of different things. Sometimes a toy or a feather waved above them to get their attention. Or shake a bag of kitty treats. Sometimes I just get lucky (after waiting for hours, focused and my finger on the shutter!!!) Sometimes I'll stick them by a window, so they can focus their attention on birds at the feeders, and maybe I get lucky. Sometimes I've put them near a window, and have my wife go outside and toss leaves in the air. They like that! Real attention getters.
And when all else fails, out comes the .44 magnum.
Hope you have a great Christmas, Dusty3d. Appreciate your visit!
