HAPPY SOLSTICE EVERYONE!!!

(Christians shoulda co-opted the spring equinox from the pagans instead)

As I said to Wilhiem,,,, Christmas, Dec. 25 is the day we have chosen to celebrate..... And although I have also lookend into the "Spring Equinox.........I was not there when Christ was born and therefore have no idea of the real date.....It matters not whit to me though...

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Mike

making an ironic comment, how in today's world the meaning of Christmas has lost practically all religious significance to the vast majority of Americans ... and become a mass bacchanalian orgy of consummerism?

Sort of like Black friday which has not gone from "Friday" to near a month...

Matters not one bit to me what the "VAST" majority of americans think, I celebrate the BIRTH OF CHRIST... and surprise to all, I purchase less at Christmas than I do for each child (5) and Grandchild (24) s Birthdays.....

I always thought the "X" in XMAS represented the cross upon which Christ was nailed.

Which is why I asked if it was supposed to be a joke. Knowing Welliem it was hard to tell!! However, if it was, I'll have to say it was a good one.

Yep, count me out of the loony PC crowd as I'll sing from the rafters; MERRY CHRISTMAS! :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

And my thoughts on Political Correctness;

“Political Correctness” is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up dog excrement by the clean end.--Author unknown

How is it possible to refer to a celebration of the birth of Jesus and leave religion out of it exactly?

(The religion of Christianity OR the religion of Atheism)

Thank you Charles Schulz....it's not the tinsel, the tree, or what we put under the tree. It's because of the birth of Christ, for whom we celebrate with bright lights, giving gifts out of love, and gathering with loved ones and friends.

Amen! Merry Christmas Steve to you and your family! May you continue to be blessed for the remainder of this year and into the New Year! :thumbup:

Thank you, Penny. I didn't think anybody could say it better than Linus did!! Merry Christmas to you and your family, too, and a Happy New Year. Blessings are always appreciated, and may you and yours be blessed as well.
