Good Day All, I am very familiar with the Old Type of SLR 35mm cameras and have been a semi-professional photographer for many years. Most of my large collection of SLE equipment was destroyed a few years ago in a storm and since I have dabbled with Digitals.. Miss the days when i would pack up my camera and a few favorite lenses in search of the illusive, ultimate combination of Setting, Subject and Opportunity!
My Quest as it may be, now is to make the transition to the newer and better camera type ... DSLR... and beseech you to be understanding as I stumble humbly within your midst, in search of knowledge !
Welcome to UHH! Looking forward to your posts :)
Welcome to the Hog, IOSF. Sorry to hear about your SLR gear though I am sure you will enjoy digital just as much in time. You can learn a lot here reading the Q&A in the photography forums. ;)

Eye,
Welcome to the Hog, a former 4x5 film purist here. Do not miss it in the least. Just turn off most of the auto garbage and take some personal responsibility as far as settings go. Adds a little spice.
Best regards,

Welcome to our group, Sorry to hear of the loss of your equipment due to the storm.. The new DSLRs are great, nice not having to worry about 12-24-or 36 shots ..
