As the greater majority of UHH members either own a Nikon or Canon camera why not provide a special section for them. This would mean that non Nikon or Canon members would be free to use the site without endless assorted posts about cameras they have no interest in.
I personally do not read any posts that mention these two manufacturers in the title.
Just a thought,
John Eccles.

No need for special category!
ALL photography, regardless of the camera brand can be enjoyed! Just ignore the topics that get carried away with which camera is better. If you don't like reading about Nikon & Canon, find a different forum site dedicated to the cameras that YOU like!

Any "special" section should be for the NON Nikon/Canon users!

I agree with Wahawk........I use Fuji cameras and spend 90% of my forum time on Fuji related forums.........

I've often thought about this. On some days, I get tired of scrolling down all the mass market Canon/Nikon bragging, particularly when someone asks "Which camera to buy?" I often see a number of posts requesting help when they fail to function properly. I'm not sure about the wisdom of separating out postings by camera brand.

How about a section for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Fugi, etc. everyone would then have their own section. Maybe a section for every manufacturer for each model? Get real. Often something can be learned from a question posed in many (most?) posts pertaining to a specific manufacturer and/or model of camera. If the post doesn't interest you skip over it.

 Right on, brother. It's not about equipment, it's about the results. Tiger Woods could beat 99% of all golfers with a $199 set of golf clubs from Walmart.

When you consider that the VAST majority of photographers use either Nikon or Canon, the forum make considerable sense. All other manufacturers are "wanna-bes" in the context of volume sales. Not that their gear is necessarily inferior, but with Nikon/Canon making up 88% of the worldwide sales of digital still cameras, that leaves a lot of manufacturers fighting for the remaining 12%.

When I look at an image, I simply cannot tell if the camera used to capture that image was a Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax or whatever.

That's not a bad idea.
Let's see, that would leave about two or three people. Boy, I sure hope(1) it's 2 or 3 that you can get along with and (2), they know anything. Because if they knew anything, they're be shooting Nikon or Canon !!
Hey, JMHO.

I have monocular vision, not binocular like the majority of UHHers probably have. I think I should have my own section.

Ha! Contact Administration and while you are at it see if they will consider providing the photos in Braille. ;)
