The greatest speech ever made

Grover, knowing you only from your previous post and what you stand for, I wonder what you truly think after hearing Chaplin's monologue? Of whom was he vilifying. And I wonder if you took note of the movies setting?
I can only guess.

How do you know what I stand for?
He was vilifying Hitler.
Of course I took note of the movies setting.
What did I think of the monologue. I loved it. I wish I had written it.
Why would you think otherwise?

One of my favorite movies, along with Modern Times.

Sad, but over seventy years later, it doesn't seem to have taken hold. And it doesn't seem likely in the near future.

I know you only from your previous post and from what you told us about yourself.

Here is an other question. What did you want others to get out of your post?

And if you could, please, don't be so short and direct with your replies, elaborate. Lets have a discussion.
