Hello everyone! Just discovered this forum and thought I'd join up and share some of your many talents. Perhaps I can share a few of mine as well. I'm a part-time professional photographer in San Diego, California doing most of my shooting at the local car races and shows. I love nature and do that as well. I'm getting older and like the fact that I can't remember the last time I had to get out of the way of an out-of-control speeding tree, as I've had to do many times for cars on the dirt track oval.
Well hope that I get to meet a few of you here and exchange some good insight into this wonderful passion of ours!
Best always, Randy

Good luck here. You sound familiar are you a refuge from popphoto.com? I like this site verymuch. It is the easiest by far to download a picture into an email post unlike popphoto. By the way the trees wait untill your back is turnded before they attack. As an ex cop I cant ell you the number of times responding to accidents Ive been told that the tree jumped into the way of a moving car.

I am a retired police sgt. also and used to keep a camera in the trunk of the car and take pictures of some crime scenes and help the ETs take pictures of crime scenes be cause many of them weren't really trained very well with the cameras. One of the most important tools that you have in evidence recovery is photos of the crime scene and I used to be shocked of the little time devoted to photography in the academy for the evidence technicians.
