canon 300 f4 lens

just acquired canon 300 f4 lens. should I set the lens to 1.5m or 3m to infinity. Plan to use 1.4 converter with it for bird and wild life.

At minimum focus distance, use 1.5, for any focus point past 3 meters use 3. It will be much faster acquiring focus.
