I saw an interesting beta android app to tether Canon DSLR's to android tablets and phones. Not all models are supported.

For a review and additional info see: http://www.dpreview.com/news/2011/8/6/androidtetheredapp

I've been thinking about buying a Toshiba Thrive tablet,
any thoughts or recommendations?

For those interested, check out Capture One 6 Pro.

http://www.phaseone.com/tutorials-pro-6#3

Then click on "Capture & Import"

Then click on "Tethered Capture"
(A You Tube article)

Also at "Camera control and tethered shooting"
(Another You Tube article)

I don't have phone axcess and therefore can't tell.

From what I hear, things like Flash and other similar website writings don't work on the phones.

-----
Do a web search for "Capture One 6 tether" and pick something that will work.

It's made to work on a bunch of cameras.

Here's one that should work:

From the info on the site Capture One works for Iphone, Ipad, etc. There is no mention of Android.
