I am transitioning to photographing and selling landscape / nature scenes, but have never done so professionally before. What is the best format for getting the best quality print images for my Nikon D7000 DSLR? What is the maximum size I can print while maintaining a high quality product?

Just some general information form one who knows little of what he writes. I do not know your camera but feel safe that you could print well in excess of 8 by 10 - which is the size I would suggest. I would be sure to print both vertical and horizontal formats. Always shoot in RAW format as you will have much better control and options in editing - and maybe more importantly your file size includes and preserves much more information. I have included a couple picture of mine just to show you an idea of some of what I like to do and would like very much to se some some of yours- if you care to share. To me the seeing of the works of others is a nice thing about thes sites.

Thank you for the tips. I love your composition and balance of light. My background is in environmental psychology (with an emphasis on sensation and perception) so the techniques you displayed are particularly important to me.

My Konica D7000 arrives late next week and I'm off to the SoCal coast a few days later. I hope to start exploring the potential of the camera during that short trip. If I capture anything worthwhile I'll post it. I'm looking forward to learning from more experienced photographers in the community.
